Happy Birthday to Me

I turned forty-five today. I was going to use that as an excuse not to run this morning but considering that I didn't run our entire vacation, I thought that maybe I should. So i did--about five miles. The weather report said that it was supposed to be 97 degrees today, but it was overcast all day and even spprinkled on us while we were running. I had a pretty lazy day. Russ made me a couple of presents that I will show off later, and he also bought me A Thousand Splendid Suns. I read the Kite Runner over vacation and loved it. I've already started Splendid Sun and I think I'll like it a lot too.
I knit quite a lot on my niece's sweater today too between taking a couple naps and making some marzipan sweaters with Kai. Paige made me a cheesecake, and Kai and I put our sweaters on it. I think we need a little practice to get as good as Lolo's sweatesr on Vegan Yum Yum.

Happy Birthday! You're making great progress on the sweater and the marzipan ones turned out good too.

Happy belated birthday! Great progress on the sweater--super work. The sugary knitting looks fantastic too--what a treat! Can you save me a marzipan yarn ball?! LOL! :o)

Hello birthday girl!!!!

It sounds like you had a nice day...I am glad. The cheesecake looks delicious...and the blue "toppings" are cute.

We really enjoyed having you all here in NE with us recently....It just stinks that I HAVE to work...so I couldn't spend more time with you all.

Enjoy your travels up North.

Happy Birthday a few days late from a fellow birthday girl!! I turn 46 today :-) I didn't go for a run, but I did bike 30+ miles.

The sweater is looking beautiful. I love the cables and the pattern down the middle. It is gorgeous!

Now I hope to get some knitting time in as well!!
